Cebu City Tour: A Weekend Itinerary

I have a friend or two who've been asking me about places to go to Cebu for a weekend trip. Since I made a blog on our recent 'Davao City Tour: A Weekend Itinerary', I thought why not do a 'Cebu City Tour: A Weekend Itinerary' post as well?

Here are my proposed destinations for two days:

Day 1

1. 10,000 Roses - This new cafe featuring a vast field of 10,000 white roses is a sight to behold. This unique cafe in Cordova, Cebu has quickly become a favorite tourist destination because of it beautiful ambiance.

2. Temple of Leah - Temple of Leah, a relatively new tourist spot in Cebu, was built out of love by Tedorico Adarna to his loving wife Leah Adarna. The temple is Greek-inspired complete with a museum, art gallery, library, and a balcony with an overlooking view.

3.  Mactan Shrine - Mactan Shrine hold a historical importance in Cebu since it is where Lapu-Lapu defeated Magellan. Take a picture with the bronze statue of the country's first ever hero or shop at the pasalubong stores located inside the compound.

Day 2

4. Magellan's Cross - Magellan's Cross is the most famous tourist destination in Cebu. You can never be in Cebu without taking a selfie inside the famous chapel of Magellan's Cross.

5. Basilica de Sto Nino - Located just beside Magellan's Cross, Basilica de Sto Nino holds the statue of Sto. Nino that was given to Queen Juana. Sto. Nino is Cebu's most beloved patron and seeing the statue is a sacred and must-try experience.

6. Fort San Pedro - This great fortress was a military base built by Miguel Lopez de Legazpi. Tourists and locals may explore the old military structure which once served as an army garrison and prison in Cebu.

6.  Museo Sugbu - Once the Cebu's provincial jail, the old structure has been converted into the Cebu Provincial Museum. Museo Sugbu's galleries showcase Cebu's rich cultural heritage.

7. Shamrock Pasalubong - Shamrock Pasalubong has been a long time favorite pasalubong stop in Cebu. Try their famous otap, a crisp, flaky, sugar coated biscuit.

8. Taoist Temple - Built by the Cebu Chinese community in 1972, Taoist Temple is the center of Taoist worship in Cebu. The temple's vibrant colors makes it a great spot for quick photo ops.

10. Sirao Garden - Sirao Garden is a colorful hillside flower farm in Busay, Cebu. It's often compared to Netherlands' flower farms because of its bright and beautiful gardens.

Travelling to all these places could take a lot of time and money. Lucky for Davao City Tour, we were able to bring our own private car so we only had to chip in for the gas. For a more convenient travel, you may try some local tour agencies and book a city tour with them. Affordable Cebu Tours is one local tour agency that offers value-for -money tours that can cover all these tourist spots :)
