Lately I've been looking back at my memories during my brief stay in Cebu. I was able to explore much of the island but nine months was not enough. Even during my last trip to Cebu last year, I was only able to visit Aguinid Falls and revisit Simala. Hopefully when there's another opportunity for me to visit Cebu, I'll be able to explore new places. Here are some of the places I wish I'll be able to go to when I return. Bantayan Island This beautiful island is located in the northernmost area of Cebu. It gained more popularity when it was featured in the movie 'Camp Sawi'. My boyfriend has been to Bantayan and he's been wanting to go back there with me. Unfortunately when we were in Cebu last year, the weather was not so good so it was not advisable to ride the boat to the island. I hope we'll be able to finally go to Bantayan the next time around. It was my boyfriend's birthday last week. Unfortunately for me, I have been quite sick last week. It started with an acidic stomach which caused my throat and tonsils to irritate. Then came the fever and all. I had planned out everything a month in advance which was good because I was able to purchase some things ahead. But it was difficult to execute because I hadn't been feeling well. Although I was able to bake him the cake filled with his favorite chocolate, our time after family dinner was cut short because he had to take me home right away. I had to take a leave that night from work. Instead of enjoying further his birthday night, he stayed at home with me and watched me as I slept until it was time for him to go home. The remaining days he spent looking after me, picking me up from work and bringing me the fruits I needed to eat. Today I just slept while he sat by my side. I woke up feeling much better. I'm finally back for my 13th Encouragement Weekly Photo Challenge! For this week, my encouragement photo is dedicated to those who have chosen live life instead of ending it, who chose to brave the world and its atrocities rather than just give up with life itself. I came across this powerful line from a Roman stoic philosopher Lucius Annaeus Seneca. It says 'Sometimes even to live is an act of courage.' Truly, in a world full of bullies, terrorism, poverty and many other things, hopelessness overwhelms our purpose of existence. We feel empty or useless, depressed or heartbroken. But to choose to wake up everyday and move on rather than sulk in the darkness of the world takes a lot more courage than we think. It takes so much willpower not to resort to suicide, to move on with life despite what is left. I laud the efforts of those who have overcome that stage in their life. And to those who are getting there, be strong. Someday, life will make sense. Then you wil
