#KaonSerye: The Grillery Smokehouse

One Saturday night, Keen and I ran out of ideas where to go out for dinner. We wanted to pig out without spending too much. He suddenly thought of the Grillery Smokehouse, the unli barbecue place beside Backyard Burgers in Ecoland. I've always wanted to try out the Grillery but I never really had a chance.  It was something new for us so we both agreed.

One can avail of Grillery's unlimited rice and barbecue for Php169 only. That also comes with unlimited soup and fruits. If you also want unlimited drinks, you can pay Php199 instead.

Naturally, Keen and I availed the Php199 promo. We were seated near the buffet of raw barbeque. We helped ourselves to some skewered bacon, beef kebab, our staple isaw, chorizo and I think pretty much everything else. Haha

Grilling everything in our table didn't take too long. Soon, everything was hot and smoky. It was probably the only thing I didn't like about the place. You have to blow the smoke away so you don't choke from it. With that said, just be prepared to smell like barbeque afterwards. They really need better exhaust fans even if the place is an open area.

Grilling our first set

Nonetheless, the food made up for all the hassle of smoke. The barbeque was marinated well that it didn't need any dipping sauce anymore. The soup was also delicious and paired well with all the grilled meat.

The Grillery also had an acoustic session that night. The performers impressively sang nostalgic OPM hits. I couldn't help but wonder how they could sing with all the smoke around.

Overall, Keen and I were satisfied with our choice. We ate a looot of barbeque that night without breaking our budget. The Grillery is definitely a value for money restaurant perfect for family and friends. We will surely come back here soon.

*update*

We recently visited their new and bigger location in Juna Subd beside Ateneo de Davao University Matina Campus. The place is now more spacious, less smoky, and has ample parking. They are now known as Skaler Bistro.
