#KaonSerye: Modern Japanese Street Dining at Sukidesu
Keen and I have been going to Aurora Quezon street to buy fresh buko juice and we have been passing by this new Japanese restaurant in the area. It wasn't anything fancy but it looked nice with all the street dining feels. We tried to eat there twice but the place was always full. Finally on our third attempt, there was a table for two available.
The restaurant was called Sukidesu. Their place was small and a bit cramped. But everything else looked decent and the staff were attentive despite being busy.
Keen and I looked at the menu and we were really surprised with the very affordable prices. Their gyoza was only 45php and chicken karaage 50php. We ordered both with a bowl of ajitama ramen and sukidesu maki.
Then we had the sukidesu maki, one of their best selling makis. It was made of cooked tuna rather than raw so Keen wasn't as impressed. I liked the overall taste of the maki though and it was a good modern version of it.
Finally, Keen and I had dessert. We tried their mango samurai which was strangely sour at first. It tasted good when we mixed the ice cream with the mango puree and sago.
Overall, Keen and I recommend this place especially when you are craving for Japanese but you have a limited budget. Be sure to be early to skip the queuing line as seats are limited. Here's a copy of their menu for future reference.

Ajitama Ramen
Ajitama ramen was served first. The serving was just enough for one person and its price. The soup was surprisingly good too. As you can see in the photo the broth is rich and the eggs were done perfectly. Keen and I agreed it was next best ramen in town. And for its price, we'll definitely be going back for it again.
Chicken Karaage
Next we had the gyoza and karaage. They were both not bad for their prices. Although as expected, they were not the best that we've had either. The gyoza lacked some spices and the karaage was not as tasty. Nonetheless, we would probably order either one of them next time.
