The New Coffee for Peace

Image
Keen and I were looking for a new place to chill so that we can work on some wedding details. On a rainy Monday afternoon, we were quite sure that the usual coffeeshops like Starbucks and CBTL would be crowded. Then I suddenly remembered my go-to coffeeshop when I was in college - Coffee for Peace. Coffee for Peace was a refuge for me back then. This used to be along Matina, near Ateneo Grade School and in front in MTS. The coffee shop was not always crowded. The atmosphere's calm and quiet even if the place was full. The ambiance was nice and the prices are relatively affordable. I could peacefully finish my homework and projects when I was there. Unfortunately, they were not 24/7 so I had to move out by closing time. Then when I started working, it was more convenient for me to go to coffee shops closer to my work-space like Starbucks, CBTL or Blugre. I think it's been five years since I've been to Coffee for Peace. On the other hand, it was Keen's first time to t...

#KaonSerye: Selera Sets at SM

Image
It was the first weekend of the year and many were still celebrating the season of Christmas. After all, it was technically Christmas until the Sunday of the Three Kings. Sadly for Keen and me, holidays were quickly over and the usual work days have already resumed. But that also means our typical Saturdates and #KaonSerye are back! And since it is part of my 2018 resolution to blog every week, what better way to get things started than to blog again about our love for food. Restaurants were filled with friends and families having belated reunions on 2018's first Saturday. After much discussion and strolling, we found ourselves seated in Selera. Good thing we were able to get a table before more than half of the restaurant was reserved by one group. Although Selera has been in SM for a while, it was our first time to eat there. It was easily dwarfed by other restaurants such as Hukad, Kuya J's and Mesa. The restaurant was relatively small but it was comfortable and very m...

Enjoying CBTL at Home

Image
It was only when I started working when I discovered Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. Our showroom/office both in manila and davao was just beside it. CBTL  was then the most convenient coffee shop for me to grab a pandesal or have an informal meeting. Ever since then,  I've grown to love CBTL. Even when I was moved to Cebu, it was my comfort place where I get to relax and enjoy my frappe.  Their blends are just right for me. I love their planner and its doesn't require an absurd number of stamps to get it. Their pastas and sandwiches are great especially when paired with their iced tea. Their African Sunrise is my ultimate favorite in their list of beverages. But now that I'm staying mostly at home, the closest CBTL is now two jeepney rides away. Good thing they launched this Ready Coffee, a 3-in-1 coffee stick that I can enjoy at home. It has the right blend for me and it starts me up for the day. Hopefully soon, they can offer delivery for their pandesal, especially the s...
