Encouragement Weekly Photo Challenge - Week 3


In this Holy Week, I go back to the Bible to find encouragement in life and inspiration for my photo challenge.

On my way home last night from a hectic Monday grind, I find myself humming the song 'Here I am to Worship' by Hillsong. The last line of the song refers to Romans 10:13 which says "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."

The line aptly describes what I felt earlier that day. I was in a middle of a crisis at work. I needed support and saving. I had to think and move fast despite the delays that I've been experiencing. It was during one of those brief moments of pause that I silently cried to God for help. And despite the hopelessness I felt that time, I knew I had to draw strength from Him and move on to the next. Thankfully, after hours of communicating to everyone, my crisis was finally resolved.

I thank and praise God for His goodness and the goodness of the people who helped me.

I was recently processing my pre-employment requirements for my new job. Barangay, Police and NBI clearances are the three basic clearances being requested for employment. While it’s ok to go directly to the offices where these clearances are being requested, it’s always an advantage to research first on the process and its prerequisites for smooth sailing applications. How to Get a Barangay Clearance I belong to barangay Matina so I got my barangay clearance from the Matina barangay hall located near Centerpoint Matina. You may look into this site for your barangay’s contact number for more info: http://www.davaocity.gov.ph/davao/district.aspx To get your barangay clearance, you must bring with you your Purok Clearance (to be issued by your purok leader) and Community Tax Certificate (also known as Cedula). Low Iodine Diet - What to Do

I will be transitioning to a low iodine diet starting today. This means that I have to avoid eating foods that are rich in iodine. It is quite a challenge to eliminate iodine since it could be found as trace minerals in some food. Not to mention, it is mostly found in foods I love to eat. Low Iodine Diet (LID) is typically prescribed to patients like me with Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma who will undergo Radioactive Iodine therapy or scan. This is to starve any remaining thyroid cells of dietary iodine so that they will effectively absorb the radioactive iodine instead. Depends on the doctor's orders, diets usually last for one week or even a month before the actual intake of radioactive iodine. The goal is to simply reduce iodine intake to less than 50 mcg per day.
