Barangay, Police and NBI Clearances in Davao City

I was recently processing my pre-employment requirements for my new job. Barangay, Police and NBI clearances are the three basic clearances being requested for employment. While it’s ok to go directly to the offices where these clearances are being requested, it’s always an advantage to research first on the process and its prerequisites for smooth sailing applications. How to Get a Barangay Clearance I belong to barangay Matina so I got my barangay clearance from the Matina barangay hall located near Centerpoint Matina. You may look into this site for your barangay’s contact number for more info: http://www.davaocity.gov.ph/davao/district.aspx To get your barangay clearance, you must bring with you your Purok Clearance (to be issued by your purok leader) and Community Tax Certificate (also known as Cedula). After presenting these, you’ll have to log some basic info in their books and you will pay a fee for the issuance of the clearance. I only paid 25 pesos for this. They wil...

Cooking Diaries: My Pasta Madness

Image
Cooking has always been a source of happiness for me. Lately I've been concocting new recipes in the kitchen. Pasta, in particular, has been my favorite experimental dish. Anyway, I just wanted to share two of the favorite pastas that I recently made, Adobo y Carbonara and Shrimps in Pesto. Adodo y Carbonara Pesto Shrimp     I usually cook in 2-3 servings since I find the pastas more flavorful as such. This also makes it easy to prepare. I'm trying to learn more recipes while I'm still idle at home. Hopefully, I'll be confident enough to cook dishes in huge servings. I will be posting more of my cooking diaries as soon as I can :)

Finding Directions

Image
If there was anything I was able to realize late last year, that was finding myself on the verge of a Quarter-Life Crisis. I sometimes found myself lost in my office desk staring blankly at my laptop. I just felt lost in general. I know that there is something wrong but I couldn't quite comprehend it at first. I'd make myself some coffee to be able to recover and get back to work. There are times when I am superb and there are times that I am just okay. But this feeling has been bothering me for a while. I have all those thoughts that I've been pushing aside because I need to focus on my priorities. The question is, do I really have my priorities right? I think there was one week when I pushed myself so hard that I was no longer able to recover. My body could no longer keep up with the mental fatigue and the stresses of constant travelling. The burnout would occasionally reflect in my health. It was my decision to move to Cebu since it was more pra...

Enjoying CBTL at Home

Image
It was only when I started working when I discovered Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. Our showroom/office both in manila and davao was just beside it. CBTL  was then the most convenient coffee shop for me to grab a pandesal or have an informal meeting. Ever since then,  I've grown to love CBTL. Even when I was moved to Cebu, it was my comfort place where I get to relax and enjoy my frappe.  Their blends are just right for me. I love their planner and its doesn't require an absurd number of stamps to get it. Their pastas and sandwiches are great especially when paired with their iced tea. Their African Sunrise is my ultimate favorite in their list of beverages. But now that I'm staying mostly at home, the closest CBTL is now two jeepney rides away. Good thing they launched this Ready Coffee, a 3-in-1 coffee stick that I can enjoy at home. It has the right blend for me and it starts me up for the day. Hopefully soon, they can offer delivery for their pandesal, especially the s...

Happy Easter!

Yesterday, I wasn't feeling well. I couldn't get up to do my work even if I had my laptop turned on already. The day just felt dragging and I've been feeling warm the whole day. I kept thinking about my pending tasks but I was mentally and physically worn out for no particular reason. By 8pm, I was already sound asleep. I woke up today at 6am, feeling refreshed. It felt like my body absorbed the joy and energy of today's Easter. The Lord has risen. Alleluia! So I'm blogging now, before doing anything else, to praise God for saving us and for giving us hope. May this Easter be a reminder of His great love for us. Happy Easter! :)

Beating the El Niño Heat

Summer's almost up and the weather's heat is more than usual. Here in the Philippines, we will be experiencing El Niño , a climate pattern associated with warmer surface waters from the Pacific Ocean. To those who live in the city like me, this phenomenon can be felt through the higher than usual temperatures during the day and some notable droughts which affect our food and water supply. So far, we are currently at 37-41 degrees Celsius and if we are not careful, a heat stroke could attack us anytime. Here are some ways that can help beat the El Niño Heat: 1. Drink lots of water (while making sure you are conserving it!) The heat dehydrates our body so we have to replenish it as quickly as we can. If there's any major use for water right now, that should be for our personal consumption. So if you are using excess water for bathing or you like turning the faucet open while brushing even if you are not using it, then you better cut off those habits. Just think that ins...
